Mini Cinnamon/Sugar Popovers
Here’s the story of how 19 Steps Bake Shop came to be. I’ve always loved to bake. My story is the classic tale of the home cook whose baked goods were so delicious, that friends and family urged me to turn my passion for baking into a business. At first I politely accepted the compliments and didn’t give it much thought. After all, I have a full-time job, and while I love to bake, I never really considered making a living doing it.
Eventually, the seeds planted by those comments of “What is this?” and “Can I order some?” at family events and social gatherings started to take root and 19 Steps Bake Shop was born. My business was originally based in Haverhill, MA, and got its name from the 19 steps that led up to the kitchen where it all began.
All of my baked goods are hand-made and created from scratch, using as many local ingredients as possible. I have worked hard to develop relationships with several local farmers who supply some of my ingredients. I’m a known fixture at the Farmers Markets in the Merrimack Valley and on the North Shore, where I have an extremely loyal following. On a typical day, I sell out of my signature items long before the market closes.
My specialties include mini cinnamon/sugar popovers, zucchini breads, caramel filled brownies, white chocolate lemon bars, magic cookie bars w/a twist and chocolate chip cookies. Many of these mouth-watering treats are also available in gluten-free versions. I also create delectable gift baskets and can produce a unique and delicious baked specialty, large or small for any occasion.
